Jeffrey Boyd Dean, 49, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away at home Tuesday, February 19, 2019. He was born April 8, 1969, in Spearman, Texas, the son of Edward Boyd Dean and Leaona Juanita McDonald (Pat) Dean. Jeff married Lori Dawn Reinert in Pottsville, Texas, on March 17, 1990.
After graduating from Denver City High School, Jeff attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas, where he was a member of the Buffalo football team, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Jeff was a 23-year employee of State Farm Insurance, working as a claims representative and advancing to manage a Special Investigations Unit.
Jeff’s favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing; spending quality time fellowshipping with friends in the duck blind, the dove field, and the trout stream.
He is survived by his wife, Lori, and his children, Gunnar and Henley; parents Boyd and Pat Dean of Denver City, Texas; siblings Lori (Russell) Alexander of Denver City, Pam Coneway of Vega, Texas, and Josh (Dawn) Dean of Denver City, Texas; uncles Carol (Carolyn) Dean, Harild Ray Dean, Johnny (Sammie) McDonald, Mike McDonald, Farris (Darla) McDonald; aunt Peggy (Ruddy) Villalva; nephews Aaron (Sharon) Sparks of Spring, Texas, Clay Sparks of Austin, Texas, Chad (Haley) Reinert of Hamilton, Texas, Dustin (Ella) Reinert of Goodyear, Arizona, Zeke and Luke Coneway of Vega, Texas; nieces Jaci Zingerman, Kooper Dean, and Tatum Dean of Denver City, Texas.
Jeff was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Henry Harild (Mildred Lorene) Dean and maternal grandparents Cap (May Joy) McDonald.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Eastridge Presbyterian Church, 1135 Eastridge Drive, Lincoln, with Reverend Thomas Dummermuth officiating.
