Jane Kay Basoco, 82, of Lincoln, passed away on March 19, 2025. Born September 8, 1942, in Lincoln, NE to Russell E. and Ruth (Fellows) Eichelberger.
Jane was a graduate of Lincoln Southeast High School class of 1960, the Bryan School of Nursing (RN 1963) and Nebraska Wesleyan University (BSN 1988). Much of her career was at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital.
Jane enjoyed her walks around the neighborhood and made many friends. She was an excellent seamstress and was gardener with a “green thumb”. After taking a class on butterflies through Osher Life Long Learning the back yard became a haven for butterflies especially Monarch Butterflies. She had favorite fabric stores in Cozad, NE; Lyons CO; Lusk, WY, Sedona, AZ and Kansas City. Mo. Traveling to art shows was always a good adventure. Artists such as Victor Issa, Neal Anderson, Bob Holloway, Russ Durerksen, Tom Altenburg, and the Lundeen family became friends and educated us. We always intended to return to the First Presbyterian Church, Topeka, KS to view their five Tiffany-Stained Glass Windows again, but we never got around to it. Jane enjoyed a wide variety of music from Baroque to Renaissance Classical to contemporary.
Jane was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church who served as a Deacon and as an Elder. She enjoyed her service on the Worship Team. Jane was proud of her affiliation and work with P E O for sixty years. After being in her mother’s P E O Chapter for ten years, in 1975 Jane was a founding member of PEO Chapter HD in Lincoln, NE.
