James Wallace Watts, 82, of Lincoln, passed away March 22, 2017. Born November 13, 1934 in Blacklick, Pennsylvania to Howard and Edna Watts. Jim grew in a small coal mining town near Pittsburgh (Blairsville) area. Jim retired from the U. S. Air Force after 21 years (1954-1975). He served in combat in Vietnam (1966-1967), stationed in Germany, Florida, Delaware, then retiring in Colorado Springs, CO. Member of Sheridan Lutheran Church. He enjoyed music, woodcarving and re-storing old cars.
Survived by his wife of 30 years, Lucille; son, Terry; daughters, Kathy Watts; Laurie (Kerr) Hawes (Tom); 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Watts. Preceded in death by parents; step-children, Debra Harris and Craig Kerr.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday (3-25-17) Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney Rd. Burial of ashes at a later date in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings.
Memorials to Veterans Hospital Sound System or Sheridan Lutheran Church.
Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday with family present from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
