I wish to leave my condolences to the family. My father, Norris (Butch) Sintek, worked for and often mentioned Mr. Minnick. He liked him and Mr. Minnick was very kind to sign my dad’s 80th birthday card. So sorry for your loss.

Gates was the absolute kindest man. I remember many Christmas Eve celebrations sitting on his stairs and people watching. I loved chatting with him throughout the years and will always think of him with a smile.

A bewildered new business owner who didn’t know where to turn, was welcomed and encouraged by Gatesy….with his big smile and big heart. He is an example I have tried to follow.

Gates was a man for all humanity. Will never forget how he wanted to have a pet cemetery at Wyuka. Last talked to him with his good buddies in the corner of Parkway Pub for coffee and cheeseburgers. Let me repeat: Gates was a man for all humanity.
