Jane, I am so sorry for your loss. I am sorry that I did not know your husband because he obviously lived an interesting life. I do remember that you lived in Woodsshire at the same time we did and that he enjoyed those Saturday cookouts at Leon’s like I do! May your happy memories sustain you and your family. Sincerely, Dorothy Anderson

Our deepest sympathy to you Jane and all your family. So many good memories over the years, all the way back to KLIN downtown at 13th and L. I just can’t think of Fred without the word “good” coming to mind. May he rest in peace!

So many wonderful memories of Fred and Jane from working at KLIN! Think one of my most cherished was of Fred driving me to Eppley Airport in Omaha so I could spend Valentines Day with my future husband Ira Schreiber when my flight in Lincoln was cancelled… he insisted he could get me to Omaha in time for a flight and he did! Fred was such a warm and caring person. The love he showed for Jane and family was shown in everything he did.. what wonderful memories …

Fred was candid, cheerful, supportive, skilled, and many other positive attributes. Most of all, Fred was kind. He knew everybody, and always had a kind word, even for a young broadcaster making mistakes. What a salesman– the best at KLIN for years. Thank you Fred. I will be very sorry not to be able to be there for you at your funeral.

I guess that I have known Fred for most of the time that he worked for KLIN. I enjoyed talking to him when I was there and then, as we’ve gotten older, I would run into him in various medical places, and would sit and talk to him. He was always happy and positive and the kind of person you would like to count as your friend Lincoln is diminished by his death, Jane, I am so sorry for you. I am sure he was a great husband.
