Helen E. Griffin

June 6, 1936 - August 18, 2024

Helen E. Griffin, 88, of Lincoln passed away August 18, 2024. Born June 6, 1936, in Tecumseh, NE to Thomas and Elizabeth (Mandery) Parrish.

Helen served as administrator for the State of Nebraska Department of Insurance for 42 years. She was a member of the St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and served in numerous organizations including; Southeast Community College Board of Governors (Jan. 1993-Dec 2015), National Management Association (1984-2000), Senior Foundation of Lincoln and Lancaster County, Optimist Club of South Lincoln, Lincoln Women’s Club, Toastmaster’s International, Cornhusker Boy Scouts, Homestead Girl Scouts, Northeast Sertoma Club, Hugh O’Brian Youth Foundation, Heartland Big Brothers/Big Sisters board member, Better Business Bureau Advisory board member, Community Women’s Club, and Sunrise Kiwanis.

Family members include her daughters Cathy (Jim) Becker, South Bend, NE and Cyndy (David) Lugaro, Huntington Beach, CA; grandchildren Jamie (Rich) Rudd, Omaha and Andy (Kim) Harris, Lincoln; great grandchildren Hadley (Yael) Calderon, Isabella (Jacob) Rudd Hilding, and Sophia Rudd, all of Omaha, Carter, Emerson, and Dax Harris, Lincoln; great great grandchild Mars Hilding, Omaha; brother Harland Parrish, Lincoln; sister Hazel ‘Suz’ Pervical, Wilbur, NE; former husband Earl E. Griffin.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Roger Carlberg, brothers Eldon, LeRoy, and Albert (Ed).

Funeral service: 1:00 pm Thursday, August 22, 2024, Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive with interment in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. No visitation.
