Obituary

Glenn Dale Hillhouse

-

Glenn Dale Hillhouse, 78, of Lincoln, passed peacefully September 23rd, with his devoted wife, Marge, at his side.
Born October 21, 1944, to Duayne and Mary (Wenz) Hillhouse, Glenn is survived by his wife Marge, children Wendy (Darin) Rich, Allan (Kym) Hillhouse, Tony (Kara) Hillhouse, all of Lincoln; brothers Dean and Duayne; and ten dearly loved grandchildren, whose mere mention would bring tears of joy to his eyes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father Carl Quist, and sister Judy LeeAnn Hile.

God blessed Glenn with an uncanny ability to work with anything mechanical. He devoted his professional life to automotive collision repair, growing a successful business throughout his life. Glenn passed it along to his son Allan, under whose leadership it thrives today. He also spent many years serving on the Capital Beach Association Board, where he worked on several large projects with close friends.

Glenn and Marge enjoyed traveling to Estes Park, Colorado; Minnesota, and also warmer places like Mexico and Florida with great friends who joined in on the fun! Cabo San Lucas and Key West will probably never be the same.
Glenn will be remembered for his wisdom, automotive wizardry, humor, determination and loyal friendship. He will be missed beyond measure, and his smile is sure to make even Heaven brighter.

A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held at North Pointe Community Church of Lincoln, 2224 Fletcher Avenue, Lincoln, Nebraska, at 10 o’clock, Monday, October 9, 2023.

Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.

Glenn always had a deep vision for all things mechanical. He could gather a pile of parts and assemble them into a thing of beauty and joy. Our son Mike and Glenn’s son Allen grew up together in school, riding their bikes, and of course working on cars. Glenn will be greatly missed, but always remembered. Our deepest condolences go out to the family.

Glenn fixed my van to perfection back in 1975 and I never forgot his exacting expertise and great personality. I pray for his family and friends as he surely will be missed by them. He’s on the ultimate beach of all now.

Both my wife and I went to High School with Glenn. My wife in Wymore, and I at Lincoln High. Our sympathies and prayers are with Dean, and the rest of Glenn’s family at this time. Both Suzi and I have fond memories of time spent with Glenn.

Our family will always remember Glenn and his family as we have known each other for years . When we moved to Lincoln back in the 70’s our sons became friends and have remained so all this time. Glenn was so generous helping the twins repair “something” and sharing his knowledge thru the years so that they could later do it themselves….maybe. Blessings to each of you . We are very sorry about your father and husband’s death. Love to all, The Strombeck Family
