Elva Lela Lavergene Waggoner, Greendale, WI, formerly of Lincoln. One of God’s precious jewels who brought great joy to all who knew her transitioned to her final home and into the welcoming arms of her Lord on Wednesday, September 10 at the age of 92. She will be greatly missed – especially by her family. She set an example for all of us in her giving spirit and loving life to the fullest. Among her many strengths were her deep faith, her unwavering love and her marvelous sense of humor.
Born, Bogue, Kansas (11/9/1915) to Frank and Pearl (Weems) Brethouwer. Moved to Roca, Nebraska at age 12. Retired, American General Financial Services (formerly Lincoln Liberty Life Insurance Company). Longtime active member, Firth Bible Presbyterian Church. Active Lincoln Berean Church prior to move to Wisconsin in 2005.
Survivors: daughter, Gwen Waggoner, Chatsworth, CA; daughter-in-law, Shirley Waggoner, Greendale, WI; three grandchildren, Julie (Paul) Miller, Hubertus, WI, Pamela (Ralph) Howe, Franklin, WI, Lisa (John) Katorski), Milwaukee, WI; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Edna Brethouwer, Lincoln. Preceded in death by husband of nearly 72 years, Richard Edwin; son, Richard Dean; daughter-in-law, Carol Belle; infant grandson, Timothy Dean; parents; two sisters and two brothers.
