Dr. Richard Paul Marshall

June 3, 1923 - November 9, 2015

Dr. Richard Paul Marshall, 92, of Lincoln, passed away November 9, 2015. Born June 3, 1923 in Lincoln, NE to Dr. James Byron and Ethel (Schapers) Marshall. Ret. 1989 after 38 years in private dental practice. U. S. Army Air Corps WWII Veteran where he served as a pilot and also in the Army Reserves. Following the war he was a crop-dusting pilot.

Member of First Presbyterian Church, Lincoln High School Athletic Hall of Fame, past president of Lincoln District Dental Association and Nebraska Dental Association, past faculty member of University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, past board member of Southeast Nebraska Health Planning Council, Delta Dental Insurance of Nebraska, Lincoln Senior Citizens Organization, Country Club of Lincoln, Reserve Officers Association, American Legion Post #3, Library of Congress Military Record, Distinguished Service Award from University of Nebraska College of Dentistry.

Richard was married for 55 years to Betty Jean Marshall, who predeceased him in 1998. Their youngest son William Scott Marshall predeceased them in 1988.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years Sally S. Marshall, Lincoln; daughter Corrina S. Marshall, Oakland, CA; son Dick Marshall, Jr. and daughter-in-law Liz Marshall, Round Mountain, TX; step-children Ann and Wayne Meints and Jane and Mark Holt, Lincoln, Steve Raglin, Omaha, Jack and Tatiana Raglin, Bloomington, IN; grandchildren Deneb Irvin and wife Tracy, Castro Valley, CA, Sydna S. Marshall and husband Adam J. Keys, Austin, TX, Eric and Allison Holt, Lincoln, Sam Meints, Lincoln, Alexi and Melina Raglin, Bloomington, IN, and great-grandchildren Kennessey and Mackenzie Irvin, Castro Valley, CA.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday (11-14-15) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Memorials to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Nebraska Chapter, 11917 Pierce Plaza, Omaha, NE 68144.

No Visitation/Cremation.
