Dr. Paul Robertson Byerly, Jr. Born September 4, 1922, in Lancaster, PA, son of Dr. Paul R., Sr. and Helen (Henwood) Byerly. Attended McCaskey High School in Lancaster, PA. Graduated from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA.
Member of the Phi Chi Mu Fraternity. Ph.D. from University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Scientist on the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge and the H Bomb Project in Livermore, CA. Joined State Department AID in 1958 serving in the Philippines and Taiwan. He taught physics at the University of Nebraska from 1963 until retirement. Elder in Westminster Church, serving on Church board, and the Homestead Presbyterian Synod.
Children: Ann Beyerly, Andrew (Tamera) Byerly, Patricia (Ron) Herman, Julie (Dane) Milldrum, Paul, III (Anne) Byerly. Grandchildren: Shane Byerly, Colleen Porta, Erynn Beaton, Lisa, Hannah and Will Herman, Graham, Alexander and Claire Milldrum, Elizabeth and Margaret Byerly. Great Grandchildren:Tristen Thompson, Violet Herman and Quinn Milldrum.
