Dr. Dale A. Capek of Lincoln, 85, died on October 10, 2015. Born in Lincoln on October 30, 1929 to Hubert and Marguerite (Burton) Capek.
Dale graduated from Lincoln High School, Univ. of Nebraska, Lincoln and UNL Dental School. Dale was in the U.S. Navy, then joined his father’s dental practice, retiring in 1999. Dale was a member of Phi Delta Theta, Sesostris Temple, the Executive Club and First Plymouth Church.
Dale was a 55-year Husker football season ticket holder. He enjoyed golf, tennis, bicycling, skiing, hunting and fishing.
Dale was known for his kind smile and sense of humor. At a Dame Edna performance on Broadway, she called Dale up on-stage, where he played the Queen Mother and was a big hit.
He is survived by his wife Clayvena “Clay”, son Charlie (Ellie), Monument, CO., son David (Sandy), College Station, TX., daughter Sarah (Zach Sager), Boulder, CO and a pack of funny grandchildren; Hannah, Ben, Ian, Camryn, Olivia, Natalie & Nathan. He is preceded in death by his sister Carol (Lampshire) and brother Richard.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held at First Plymouth Church, 2000 D St., Lincoln, on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm.
