Dr. Carroll R. Sawin, 85, of Lincoln, passed away at The Monarch, on August 20, 2016. Born August, 16, 1931, in Anthon, Iowa, to Lloyd and Florence (Willmott) Sawin. Ret. Assistant Superintendant of Human Resources LPS. As a devoted civic servant, he was a member of First Plymouth UCC, Nebraska School Administration Association, Masonic Lodge #19, SERTOMA, board member of Friendship Home and Cedars, and National President of School Personnel Administration Association, and known to many as a gifted tenor.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie (Livengood). He is survived his daughters Kristin Welbes (David) of Gilbert, AZ, Sarah Thomas (Jay) of Lincoln; and son Paul Sawin (Jeanine) of Longwood, FL; 4 grandchildren Zachary and Brendan Sawin, Samantha and Jack Thomas; and by his wife, Berdine; her daughters Suzanne (Barry) Van Amberg of Valencia, CA and Sara (John) Gran of Lincoln; stepsons Dan (Cary) Heskett of Kalispell, MT, Todd (Leslie) Heskett of Lone Pine, CO; step grandchildren Kelly and Haley Van Amberg, Nathan and Emma Gran, Ross, Zach, Hilery, and Hannah Heskett; sister Lucy Lorenzen (Duane) of Green Valley, AZ.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday August 27, 2016 at First Plymouth Church 20th and D.
