Douglas L. Hansen, 80, Lincoln, passed away July 10, 2017 after a courageous battle with acute pulmonary fibrosis. Born July 27, 1936 in International Falls, Minnesota to Walter E. and Ada L. (Emerson) Hansen. U. S. Air Force Veteran. Retired Sergeant/Detective from the Lincoln Police Department after 34 years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Family members include his wife, Arloine Joy Hansen; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Lisa Hansen, Kenny and Sondra Hansen, all of Lincoln; son-in-law, Eugene Goering, Columbus, NE; grandchildren, Valerie and Ron Grosjean, Phillip and Patricia Goering, Marie and Witt Rodehorst, Reed and Allie Goering, Stacie and Sam Kiddoo, Taylor and Brenna Hansen, Spencer and Ashley Hansen; great-grandchildren, Argent, Noir, Crimson and Altin Grosjean and Michael and Matthew Goering; brothers, Walter Gerald Hansen of International Falls, MN, Paul Hansen of Erie, CO, John Hansen of Canby, OR, Richard Hansen of Keizer, OR, and David Hansen of Ray, MN; sisters, Edith Hockett of Snellville, GA, and Lynda Newman of Hibbing, MN. Preceded in death by parents, daughter, Kim Goering, brothers, Arthur and James Hansen.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday (7-14-17) Christ United Methodist Church, 4530 A Street with Rev. Dr. Richard Randolph officiating. Burial in Rosehill Cemetery, Waverly, NE after a reception at the church. Visitation: Family will greet friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
