Doug was born in Lincoln on December 18th, 1968, to Richard and Carolyn (Kroese) Gable. Doug attended Waverly schools and graduated in 1987. In school, he was a member of Waverly F.F.A. where he participated in the junior Parli Pro Team and did livestock judging and showed sheep. Doug met his wife Jami while in high school at an arcade in Lincoln. They later married and had one daughter, Mercedes, to complete their family. Family was the most important thing to Doug.
Doug was an avid hunter, both gun & bow. He got his trophy buck on the acreage where they lived.
Doug played alongside his brother in the same pool league; they grew up learning how to play on a table in the basement. They both strived to be better than their dad and to beat him.
Doug and Jami owned Rock Creek Refuse and had worked side by side for years and still their love endured.
Doug is survived by his wife Jami Gable, daughter Mercedes Gable and Michael Ratute of Colorado Springs, CO. Mother Carolyn Gable, niece Brianna Gable and Nick Abbott, aunts Nancy Kroese, Linda Fox, both of Lincoln, Pat Gable of Denver, CO.
