Douglas A. Detmer, of Lincoln, passed away February 15, 2021. He was born in Lincoln, NE to Jake Detmer and Gladys Belle King. Doug retired from Goodyear. He was a United States Marine veteran, member of the Bennet American Legion Post #280, and United Rubber Workers Union.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Harlan Schreurs, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Doug is survived by his wife, Sharon of Lincoln; daughters, Nicole (Nickolas) Effle of Lincoln, and Leanne (Robert) Wilson of Waverly; 9 grandchildren, Alexis Effle-Thomas, Kaylie Wilson, Jaxson Effle, Evan Detmer, Robbie Wilson, Caleb DeGarmo, Tiszon Effle, Dylan Wilson, and Laela DeGarmo; sister, Seanne Staley of California; and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 at Roper & Sons South Lincoln Chapel (3950 Hohensee Dr.) from 12 – 5 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Roper & Sons South Lincoln Chapel.
