Donald L. Bade, 90, formerly of North Platte, NE, passed away in Lincoln on February 2, 2021. He was born on January 6, 1931 in Milton-Freewater, OR, to Fred and Florence (Hopkins) Bade. Donald was a longtime Union Pacific Railroad employee serving as an electrician and foreman. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, a North Platte City Councilman for 8 years, served as a 25-year volunteer for the U.S. MAPS program (Mission America Placement Services) where he helped build and maintain church buildings in Arizona, and a longtime member of Gideon’s International.
Family members include his wife Lorraine of Lincoln; children, Donald L. (Patti) Bade Jr., Karen (Joe) Middleton, Charles “Chuck” (Joyce) Bade, Margaret “Peggy” Sykes, Steven (Teri) Bade, and Belinda Morris; 25 grandchildren and 30 ½ great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, son Frank, sisters Lucille, Dorothy, and Marion, granddaughter Lindsay Morris and sons-in-law Steven Sykes and Mark Ingroum.
Funeral Service to be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ St. Viewing to be held Friday, February 5, from 9:00-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Current local Covid-19 guidelines will be followed; Masks are required.
