Dixie Lee Stanard Hartshorn, 88, of Seward, formerly of Lincoln passed away July 2, 2022. Born January 31, 1934, in Lincoln, NE to Louis and Estelle (Gilson) Standard.
Dixie married John Hartshorn on August 17, 1952, in Lincoln. She worked for the State of Nebraska for 15 years, retiring in 1995. Dixie was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Family members include her sons Jeff (Joette) Hartshorn, Garland, NE; Brad (Lorraine) Hartshorn, Spring Hill, KS; daughter Carla (David) Snoad, Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Jason (Susie) Hartshorn, Janae (Bryan) Niebrugge, Ben (Angela) Hartshorn, Tara (Steven) West, Michael (Danielle) Hartshorn, Rachel (Brandon) Hartshorn-Hightshoe; great-grandchildren Amanda and Allie Hartshorn, Knox Niebrugge, McKinley and Jonathan Hartshorn, Sadie West, , Arianna, and Braylee Hartshorn, Morgan, Holton, and Keaton Hightshoe; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband John, sons Melvin and Douglas, brothers Warren and Waldo, sisters Dora, Lillian, Ruth and Vivian.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday (7-8-22) Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
Visitation with family present from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Roper and Sons.
