Dean Alfred Wiegert

January 31, 1940 - June 19, 2022

Dean Alfred Wiegert, age 82 of Lincoln died June 19, 2022 at The Arbors Care Center. Dean was born January 31, 1940 in Chapman, the son of Alfred and Meta (Gosda) Wiegert.

Dean grew up in Grand Island and moved to Lincoln following high school. He married Judy Roby August 20, 1961 in Grand Island. Judy died January 11, 2018. Dean worked as an accountant at Goodyear for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Phi Kappa Tau. Dean loved fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

Dean is survived by his sons, Matthew Wiegert and wife Annette; Mark Wiegert and wife Kari; and Tim Wiegert, all of Lincoln; grandchildren, Micah, Kate, Thomas, Lindsey, Grace and Dean; sister in law, Sharon Moore of Grand Island; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Wayne and Less; and sister, Irma.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 24, 2022 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 510 S. 33rd Street in Lincoln with burial to follow in Wyuka Cemetery.

Visitations with family will be 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Thursday at Roper & Sons Funeral Service, 4300 O Street in Lincoln.

Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
