We were very saddened to hear of the passing of Daisy and Gates. They were wonderful people. I always enjoyed engaging Gates (Mr. Minnick back then!) in lively conversation at the Lincoln Country Club. He had exceptional wit and wisdom–always interesting points of view. Mike, you are very fortunate to have such great parents. He and Daisy will be missed.

Daisy was always so very upbeat, generous, and kind. Somewhat of an end to a most memorable, unforgettable, era.

Daisy and Gates were one of the folks we first met when we moved to Lincoln 33 ears ago. We were fortunate to count them among our most favorite people.

Our parents…unique first names, unique holiday birthdays. I would call Mom on February 2nd and say, ”Hi Mom, happy birthday!” and she would say “I’m in my closet and I won’t be coming out for 6 weeks!” I guess the groundhog didn’t see his shadow. My mom HATED winter! On April 1st, I would call and say “Hi dad! Happy Birthday you old fool!” And he would respond with, ”YES I am!” I loved them SO much! ☺️❤️
