Obituary

Constance “Connie” Jean Bulling

January 19, 1932 - June 27, 2024

Constance “Connie” Jean (Osburn) Bulling, beloved mother, devoted wife, and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on June 27th, 2024. She was born on January 19, 1932, to Claude and Alice Osburn in Ashland, NE. During her pre-school years, the family lived on the Fulmer farm east of Greenwood.

Connie, as she was affectionately known, graduated from Greenwood High School in 1950, leaving a trail of fond memories and lifelong friendships. In 1951, she was crowned Miss Greenwood during the Cass County Fair, a testament to her inner and outer beauty.

Connie was a wonderful big sister to her brothers Ronnie and Rodger.  As the siblings grew into adulthood, many family get-togethers were enjoyed by all.  In July of 1953, amidst the festivities of Ashland Stir-Up days, she met the love of her life, Ted, leading to their marriage in January 1954.

Together, Ted and Connie embarked on the journey of parenthood, raising two sons, Ted Jr. and Dan. Their family moved to Lincoln in 1961, where they created a loving home filled with laughter and cherished memories. Ted and Connie were not just parents; they were mentors, cheerleaders, and unwavering sources of love and guidance for Ted Jr. and Dan.

Their commitment to family was shown by support in the boys’ school activities, boy scouts, sports, and everything else they were involved in. During Ted Jr. and Dan’s high school and college days, Ted and Connie traveled across the state and the country, attending their athletic events.

Connie’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, as she joined the Evangelical United Lutheran Church in 1962 and remained an active member throughout her life. Her dedication to faith and community was evident in every aspect of her life.

The joy of grandchildren brought immense happiness to Connie. Zachary, Emily, Elliott, and Nathan were recipients of boundless love, wisdom, and laughter from their beloved grandmother.  In Connie’s later years she was blessed with great-grandchildren Addison, Jackson, and Lily.

Connie is survived by her loving sons and daughters-in-law, Ted Jr. and Denise, Dan and Karen, all of Lincoln; grandchildren and their spouses, Zachary and Jackie, Emily and Austen, Elliott and Kala, and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Addison, Jackson, and Lily; brother and sister-in-law Rodger and Joy; along with many nieces and nephews.  Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
