Connie Ruth Coffey, 74, of Lincoln, formerly of Palmyra, passed away August 22, 2021, peacefully at her home. Born June 6, 1947, in St. Paul, NE to Edward and Ruth (Swanson) Janc.
She retired from the NE DHHS as a field reviewer for schools spanning the state. Following retirement, she spent six years working at the Palmyra Senior Center. After moving to Lincoln, she began working at Tabitha Grace Pointe where she continued to care for others.
Connie was a member of Palmyra Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed serving the Lord as a Deacon as well as spending time teaching the young minds the word of God.
Connie brought a contagious smile, a boisterous laugh, and a devoted helping hand wherever she went. Everyone that knew Connie will miss her quick wit, happy heart and that feeling that everything will be alright. Simply put she had that loving spirit that we feel today that inspires us to do our very best.
Preceded in death by her mother, father, sister Judy Imus, brother Robert Janc, beloved dog Tanker and feline friend Tara Sue.
Survived by her children Denise Nolan, Marc McGowan, and Michelle Hinkley; grandson she raised Alexander Hinkley; grandchildren Kurstin Greenfield, Alexandria, Tanner, Paxton Nolan, Anna Golden, Andrea Tudor, Kaley Hinkley, Hannah McGowan, and Paige Codr, 5 great grandchildren; brother Nick Janc.
Visitation Friday (8-27-21) from 6-8 pm at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
Funeral Service: 10:30 am Saturday (8-28-21) Palmyra Presbyterian Church, 699-649 Illinois Place. Burial in Rosewood Cemetery, Palmyra.
