Baby Callie Mae was born on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 at 10:34am to parents Nick & Jacque Sass at Methodist Women’s Hospital in Omaha.
And to think the first thing you saw when you opened your little eyes was the face of Jesus.

Callie was born at just 32 weeks gestation with an extremely rare and inoperable heart defect called Ebstein’s Anomaly. She weighed 6lbs. 1oz. and was 17in. long. Callie passed peacefully in the comfort of her parents arms at 12:12pm.
Callie’s parents were blessed with 1 hour and 22 minutes with their baby girl before she went to her heavenly home. Nick & Jacque were prepared for only a few minutes with Callie, if any at all. God granted them the chance to hear her soft cry, feel her faint breaths and time to pray over her and shower her with love before Jesus called her home. They will cherish those moments for the rest of their lives.
Callie will be forever loved by her Mama & Dada and big sissy Nealey, Gigi & Grandpa, Grandma Jeanie, Great Grandma Nick and Great Grandma Schu, Aunt Maggie & Uncle Alex, and cousins Max, Elly, and Will, Aunt Avery & Uncle Doug, Uncle Rob & Aunt Jill, and cousins Quinton and Brynlee, Uncle Jason & Aunt Kayla, and cousins Elliott and Dawsen, and so many other family members and dear friends.
Callie was preceded in death by her Grandpa Mike, Great Grandpa Nick, Great Aunt Marilee, Great Grandpa Star & Great Grandma Star, Great Grandpa Sass & Great Grandma Sass, and Great Grandpa Schumacher. They undoubtedly welcomed her into heaven with open arms.
Callie Mae will always be Nick and Jacque’s baby girl and Nealey’s baby sissy, and they look forward to being reunited with her in heaven one day.
