Burnadette (Burny) Yeutter Stevenson, 84, Lincoln, died Tuesday (5-24-11). Burny was born on (8-1-26) in Eustis, Nebraska to Frederich Charles and Gladys Fern (Burley) Yeutter. She grew up on a farm north of Eustis and attended a one-room country school. She graduated as class valedictorian from Cozad High School and received her degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she was a member of Willard Sorority. While at Wesleyan she met and married Robert (Bob) Stevenson, a University Place native and NWU graduate.
Burny worked alongside Bob at his family print shop, Northeast Printers, for 30 years as office manager. After her retirement she worked for the Rocky Ridge Music Camp, Lincoln office, and volunteered at the University Place Art Center, the Lincoln Symphony, and St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Burny was an active member of PEO, Chapter AI, and the Lincoln Symphony Guild.
Burny and Bob loved to travel and were active in Friendship Force and AFS (high school foreign exchange program). Burny also enjoyed her backyard birds, butterflies, gardening, and listening to classical music.
Family members include her husband, Robert; son, daughter-in-law, Owen and Janice Stevenson, daughters, sons-in-law, April Stevenson, Sara and Bradley Ewerth, all of Lincoln, Joy Stevenson and David Burks, Singapore; grandchildren, Robert C. Stevenson and wife Megan Benoit, Atlanta, GA, Laura Stevenson, Omaha, Anna Finkelson, Asheville, NC, Anders Finkelson, St. Paul, NE, Lindsay Ewerth, Phoenix, AZ, Amanda Ewerth, Lincoln, Austin Burks and Eleanor Burks, both of Singapore; 2 great grandchildren, Ethan Rand and Draven Stevenson; niece, Linda K. Stevenson. Preceded in death by parents, sister, Georgia Squires and brother, John Owen Yeutter.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (6-1-11) Eastmont Towers Chapel, 6315 ‘O’ Street. Pastor Dan Safarik, officiating. Prior private interment.
