Beverly L. Peterson Wakely

Beverly L. Peterson Wakely, 83, of Lincoln, passed away May 8, 2016. Born December 20, 1932 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Milton J. and Edna T. (Sands) Peterson. Beverly grew up on a farm between Marquette and Aurora, NE. She rode her horse to country school through 8th grade; was a tomboy who loved helping her dad with anything he did. Graduated from Aurora High School 1950; Bryan Memorial Hospital of Nursing in Lincoln, NE 1953. She worked at St. Alexis Hospital. Member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Legion of Mary Auxiliary, Adoration and Prayer line. Volunteered at Bryan Health and Clinic with a Heart. The loves of her life, husband Bill of 63 years, all her family members, her Church and dog Rex.

Survived by husband, Bill; daughter, Chery Mead, Rapid City, SD; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Malcolm Heard, Lincoln; Kim and Steve Sobolik, Roswell, GA; and son and daughter-in-law, BJ and Ann Wakely, Louisville, CO; grandsons and wives, Nathan and Kim Heard, Sean and Blair Heard, Lincoln; grandson, Geoff Mead, Lincoln; granddaughter, Sydney Mead, Roswell, GA; granddaughters, Hallie and Sara Wakely, Louisville, CO; great-granddaughters, Sylvie Kay Heard, Lincoln; Mara Adley Heard, Lincoln; sister, Marvel Mapes, Waunakee, WI; niece, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Marilyn McEntarffer.

Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (5-11-16) followed by a Rosary at Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Thursday (5-12-16) St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 7900 Trendwood Drive.
