Betty Jean Howell, 87, Lincoln, passed away November 3, 2016. Born June 19, 1929 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Lee W. and Mabel F. (Shuck) Stevens. 20+ years employee at Wagey Drug, 14 years at Jim’s Drug and 8 years at Everett Elementary School in food service where she retired in 1991. Betty was the oldest attending member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and very actively involved in the church. She was the publisher of the “Round Robin” newspaper. She was the longest residing resident in the Near South neighborhood.
Family members include her loving friend, Jan Kerr, Lincoln; nieces and nephews; great nieces, Kim Kaufman, Shelli Huss and Lisa Moore; cousins, Ronny and Larry Rakow. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy C. Howell, Jr, and a brother, Hershel Stevens.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (11-7-16) Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 8320 South Street with Pastor Joseph Rafique officiating.
