Dana and Rachel were overwhelmed but overjoyed when they received the news that they would be welcoming three baby boys into the family. The couple’s imagination was filled with the possibilities that these boys would bring: a house full of laughter and love and chaos. The family dog, Wilbur, would have ceaseless playtime, endless ear scratches, and unlimited love from these tiny new family members.
While those dreams will never be realized and the house will never hear their laughter, the three boys provided their parents with a new understanding of what it means to love. Meeting and holding their boys marked the most profound moment of Dana and Rachel’s lives – a moment that came with a feeling of happiness that they could have never imagined. While they will never get to raise their boys and see what they would become, Dana and Rachel’s lives will be forever changed by the love they experienced for them. They take comfort knowing that their sons will carry the love from their family and friends with them on their next adventure together.
A Celebration of Life and reception will be held on Friday, July 1 at noon at First Plymouth Church, 20th and D Streets, Lincoln, Nebraska. Private family burial will occur at a later date.
