Anne R. Scharf, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013. Anne was born on November 14, 1925 on the family farm near Dwight, NE the third of eight children born to Joseph and Rose (Buresh) Tichy. She was united in marriage to Adolph Scharf. Following their marriage, Anne and Adolph raised their family, worked hard and farmed near Valparaiso until 1964 after which they moved to Havelock.
One of Anne’s greatest accomplishments and passions was working as a nursing technician at the Lincoln Veteran’s Hospital for 30 years. She became close friends with her co-workers and the friendships that were developed were held close to her heart. She will be remembered by many for her kolaches, apple pies, home cooked meals that she prepared and the family gatherings she hosted. She so enjoyed exhibiting baked goods and croqueted afghans at the State Fair.
Her grandchildren were very close to her and she to them. She was always there to listen and encourage them as they would sit and talk out on her patio. She will be remembered for her strength, generosity, her radiant smile and loving ways.
