Gerald (Jerry) Gabelman, 89, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2022 surrounded by family and friends at his home. Born in Norfolk, Nebraska JR was happy to be a Husker all his life and made a happy life with his wife and four daughters in Lincoln, Nebraska.

After returning to Lincoln with Miriam he became an insurance agent and worked his way up the company ladder until he retired as a Regional Vice President for Sentry/Dairyland Insurance. His job took him to the Western states throughout his career but he loved being home in Lincoln and supporting the Husker football and volleyball teams. When he wasn’t working he was enjoying his hobbies, he loved tinkering with watches, hunting, fishing, and bargaining for a good deal anywhere there was one to be had. His favorite place to be was with his family but he had a love for adventure that took him to Canada for fishing and Mazatlan for relaxing sunsets and bargaining with the locals.
