Loretta Lucille (Hermance) Sterns

Loretta Lucille (Hermance) Sterns, 96, of Lincoln, passed away February 19, 2019. Born March 7, 1922 in Raymond, NE to D.C. (Dude) and Sarah (Barton) Hermance. Married to John C. (Cal) Sterns on July 30, 1944. Loretta attended school in Raymond and graduated from Raymond High School and the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She taught school at Yutan, Raymond, Ceresco and Raymond Central Valparaiso.

Loretta was longtime member of Raymond United Methodist Church (84 years), Raymond United Methodist Women, Raymond Womans Club, Jolly Sisters, Delta Kappa Gamma, LARSP (Lincoln Area Retired School Personnel), and Lancaster County Chorus.

Family members include children Jack (Jackie) Sterns, Sally (Bob) Jacobs, Bill (Karen) Sterns, all of Raymond; grandchildren Mike (Becky) Grant, Sarah (Arlan) Paxton, Charlie Sterns, Jennifer (Doug) Nelson, Stephanie (Steve) Nelson, Dan (Amber) Sterns, and Cal (Jodi) Sterns; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren; brother Cliff (Ruth) Hermance, Ogallala; brother-in-law Lew Sterns, Benedict; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and husband John C. (Cal) Sterns.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday (2-26-19) Raymond United Methodist Church, 14750 3rd Street. Burial Oak Creek Cemetery, Raymond.

Memorials to Raymond United Methodist Church or Raymond Central Educational Foundation.

Visitation with family present from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
