Kitty D. Kearns was born in Lincoln to Dale & Juanita Kearns. She lived in Lincoln all of her life. She began work as a Page in December 1968 in anticipation of the convening of the 1969 Legislature. In January 1972 she was designated “Page in Charge”. In January 1977 she was designated “Page Supervisor”.
She worked for the Nebraska State Legislature for 50 years. She supervised approximately 1,250 young people during those 50 years and became their supervisor, mentor, and friend. She was involved in all of their lives, was proud of their life accomplishments, and left a lasting legacy for those she came in contact with. She thought of all those she supervised throughout the years as “HER” pages and lived vicariously through their lives and their various achievements. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. The Kearns family will truly miss our little ray of sunshine who will be treasured forever in our memories.
Kitty is survived by her brother, Michel & sister-in-law, Linda Kearns, nephew, Nicholas (Kerry) Kearns, niece Kristin (Brian) Holbert, four great nieces, Addison and Anna Kearns, Brooklyn Holbert, Jamicyn Kearns, and great nephew, Grayson Holbert.
