Jeffrey Dean Highstreet

Jeffrey Dean Highstreet, 58, Lincoln, NE, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer on January 3, 2018. Jeff was born in Sioux Falls, SD on February 6, 1959 to Vernon and Mary (Fincher) Highstreet. He graduated from Washington H.S. (1977) and enlisted in the U. S. Navy which he served for 8 years. After serving his country, he settled in Lincoln, NE and worked at Automated Systems and then the Gallup Company for 20 years as an IT Tech.

Jeff loved going hunting with his dad, sitting with mom on Christmas eve and having a quiet talk, tearing apart a broken computer and making it work, reading science fiction novels, playing pool, and being with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-father. We will miss him dearly.

Family members include his wife, Tami (Best) Highstreet; daughter, Kimberlee Cina, Topeka, KS; son, Christopher Billings, Lincoln; step-daughters, Cassie Walters and Heather Phillips, both of Lincoln; grandchildren, Madison, Titan, Mariah, Anthony, Shamar, Mariah, Cameron, Brittnay and Tieryn; great-granddaughter, Bryeil; mother, Mary Highstreet, Sioux Falls, SD; sisters, Dianne (Rod) Scott, Lincoln, Sandy (Craig) Lickteig, Sioux Falls, SD; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father and many aunts , uncles and cousins.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (1-8-18) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street with Pastor Kerry O’Bryant officiating.

No visitation/cremation.
