Yesterday, for no reason at all, on a whim, I decided to look up “Greg Snow”, whom I knew from my days at the University Michigan Physics Department. I was his teaching Assistant for a semester and my wife also attended his Introductory Physics course for engineering students. I was saddened to learn of his death. Kudos to Greg Snow for rising above the poor hand that the cancelation of SSC had dealt him and still delivering on building a High Energy Physics program at UNL Physics ( something that Martinus Veltman had failed to do at Michigan). In my mind, the Cosmic Ray Observatory Project that bears his imprint is as a big an achievement as his building of the HEP group; if not higher. What a wonderful idea and what an extraordinary undertaking! I remember Greg’ Snow’s acid-washed jeans and his nice base voice. God Bless Greg Snow.
