Gary G. Harmon

Gary G. Harmon, 72, Lincoln passed away January 12, 2019. Born June 17, 1946 in Omaha, NE to Kenneth and Evelyn (Evans) Harmon. After attending Taylor University (1968) in Upland, Indiana and then earning a masters degree from Loyola University-Chicago (1973) Gary began a long career in sales. In December he retired from his role of General Manager at Bishop Business Equipment where he spent the last sixteen years running Bishop’s Lincoln office.

Gary was a member of Lincoln Berean Church where he was very involved in the church’s Men’s Ministry. During the past 25 years of Gary’s life he found great purpose and passion in helping men become all that God intends them to be. Besides being active in his local church, Gary also served on the City Impact Board and was active in Lincoln’s Downtown Rotary Club #14.

Gary just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary in December. He was always an encourager, a lover of fun, a joy to be around, a loving husband, a fantastic father, and a consummate grandpa. Besides all this, he was also an avid golfer who was able to enjoy his one and only hole in one at the age of 70.

Family members include his wife Cindy; sons Joel (Amy), Ryan (Jenee) and Shane (Jessica) Harmon; grandchildren Nathan, Sophie, Caleb, Sam, Jude, Lannea, Lucia, Jacob and Evelyn; sisters Linda (Scott) Swanson and Barb (Jim) Hendricksen; brother Dave (Kim) Harmon; brothers-in-law/sisters-in-law Nancy (Dale) Davies, David (Linda) Bishop and Mark (Melanie) Newhouse; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents.
