Barbara (Lewis) Ortegren

Barbara (Lewis) Ortegren passed away peacefully on July 21, 2021 at Eastmont in Lincoln. Barb was born on March 18, 1932 in Roca, NE to John and Fern Wood. She lived and attended school in Lincoln graduating in 1950 from Lincoln High School. A year after graduating she married Dale Harmon, the father of their four children, Scott, Cheri, Susie and Tina.

She spent the majority of her working career at First National Bank (FirstTier) in downtown Lincoln. She married Bob Lewis in 1972 until his passing in 2000. Barb moved to Eastmont in 2007 and on September 10, 2016 married Maynard Ortegren.

She is survived by her husband, Maynard; son, Scott Harmon (Charlottesville, VA); daughters, Cheri Dawdy (Lincoln), Susie Harmon (Ft. Collins, CO), Tina Tyler (Lincoln); stepson, Randy Lewis (Palm Springs, CA); stepdaughter, Jenny (Pat) Karl (Columbia, MO); ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ila Currey; Maynard’s daughters, Cheryl (Brad) Oliver, Jane (John) Michael, and Barb (Steven) Arnold and Maynard’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Bob Lewis, stepson Mike Lewis and stepdaughter Kim (Lewis) Bellinger.
The family would like to thank the wonderful care provided by Eastmont during her stay in the healthcare area.

Visitation: 4-6pm with family Thursday, July 29th at Midtown Roper’s location 4300 O Street.

Memorial Service: Friday, July 30th at 2:00pm, also at Roper’s Midtown Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Eastmont Foundation.

I was Barbs’ hairdresser for 14 years at Eastmont. She was a true delite in every way. We had similar sense of humors and we had alot of laughs. I miss her already, and will for a long time Rest in peace Barb.
