Judy Miller

December 1, 1961 - September 26, 2015

Judy Miller was born December 1, 1961, in Grand Island to Jack and Rosetta (Coons) Haile, were she was baptized at the Methodist Church in Cairo. Judy grew up in Cairo and attended Centura Public Schools, where she graduated in 1980. Soon after high school, she married Jon Rath. They had two beloved and beautiful daughters Jamie Amber and Jill Alicia.

They later divorced and in 1989, she moved to Lincoln. She attended Milford Community College and received an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. With her degree she went on to work at Nebraska Public Power District in Hallam and then to Nebraska Boiler in Lincoln. In 1991, Judy met Chuck Miller on the dance floors of Lincoln, and he was the love of her life. Chuck even took dance lessons so he could meet this beautiful gal. Chuck had a son, Reese, and in 2001 they married and together raised their three children. In 1996, she became Office Manager at Cather and Sons Construction Inc., where she worked until her untimely death.

Judy enjoyed working side by side with Chuck, renovating old houses, tending to her flowers, sun bathing and entertaining family and friends at the lake. She also enjoyed her time dog sitting for her and her grand dingos, Milli, Zoe, Presley and Tenley. Her greatest joy was sitting as first mate to Chuck’s captain, while out on the boat.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Chuck; children, Jamie Rath of Omaha, Jill Rath (Keith Hamm) of Lincoln, and Reese (Samantha) Miller of Sierra Vista, AZ; two brothers, Jay (Burnetta) Haile of Doniphan, Johnny (Sheryl) Haile of Grand Island; four sisters, Jody Haile of Lincoln, Jennifer Haile- Johnson, Jolene (Kevin) Miller, and Josette (Bob) Capasso; mother in law, Catherine of Beatrice; brother in law, Randy (Ellen) Miller of Beatrice; four sister in laws, Sally (Kevin) Chlupacek of Omaha, Patty (Milan) Powers of College Park, TX, Joanie Miller of Lincoln, Jenny (Jim) Wholers of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Carter and Caden Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
