Ruby O’Mara, 93, passed away August 15, 2016 in Lincoln, NE. Born November 22, 1922 to Carrel and Clara (Warnstaff) Coffey in Partridge, KS. She worked for the Lincoln Public Schools, retiring in 1979. Ruby will be remembered for playing the piano at many retirement homes and for various organizations in Lincoln. She very much enjoyed her friends, activities, and the staff at Clark Jeary Retirement Center. Ruby belonged to First Plymouth Church and organizations within the church. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Naphis Temple #66, and Eastern Star Temple Chpt#271.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Ruth) Wallace of Lincoln, Marilyn (Bob) Harris of Denver, CO; grandchildren, John Wallace of Lincoln, Emily (Ryan) Wiswesser of Girdwood, Alaska; step-grandchildren, Matt (Amy) Harris of Lincoln, Ted (Stephanie) Harris of Denver; 5 step-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones. Preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Willard Wallace and Kenneth O’Mara; two brothers, Dale Coffey, Roy Coffey; two sisters, Cleo Chiles and Opal Veazey.
Private family service will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park.
