Carol Jo (Romans) Kohles

January 8, 1950 - April 22, 2015

Carol Jo (Romans) Kohles, 65, of Kramer, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2015. Born January 8, 1950 in Norfolk, NE the daughter of Hubert and Lois Jean (Nelson) Romans. Carol received her G.E.D. from Columbus Community College.

She continued her education receiving her RN degree and Bachelor’s degree. On November 11, 1978, Carol married Larry P. Kohles from which this marriage created a family of 6 sons and 1 daughter. Larry and Carol made their home in Columbus, NE and later Martell, NE. She enjoyed gardening, thrifting, the “Romans” family gospel bluegrass music and spending time with family.

Preceded in death by her husband, Larry; son, Eric Kohles; and parents. Survived by her children, spouses and grandchildren, David and Amanda VanAsperen, (Devin, Dawson), Steve and Jayne VanAsperen (James, Blake, Dayna), Samuel and Autumn VanAsperen (Ayla, Alexis), David Kohles (Riley), Ami and Mark Backencamp (Mitchel), DJ VanAsperen, granddaughter, MacKenzie Kohles; brother, Jerry Kohles; sisters and brothers-in-law, Roxie and Gary Friend, Becci and Glenn Stech; Mary and Steve Mairose, in-laws, Roger and Evie Kohles, Sherry and Bob Ketner, Lisa and Mike Bruegh, Chuck and Krista Kohles and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (4-27-15) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for future designation.

Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Roper and Sons.
