Mabel I. (Davis) Park

January 29, 1920 - June 12, 2013

Mabel I. (Davis) Park, 93, of Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday (6-12-13). Born (1-29-20) in Lincoln, NE to Benjamin and Lucretia (Hagerty) Davis. She was born, raised and married in her parent’s home at 44th & Gladstone. Mabel worked at various jobs after graduating from Jackson High School in 1938. From 1938 to 1941, Mabel lived and worked on the west coast, in Oregon and California. When WWII broke out, Mabel came home to Lincoln and got a job working in the payroll dept. at the Lincoln Airbase till the end of the war. Mabel and Harvey married in 1947. They eventually settled in Havelock in a new house to raise their family. Mabel was a 50-year member of the Havelock Rebekah Lodge #150.

Preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, husband Harvey and twin daughters Patricia and Pamela. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie (Becky) Park, James (Sheryl) Park; daughter, son-in-law, Nancy (Joe) Vaverka; 9 granddchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (6-19-13) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street with Pastor Kerry O’Bryant officiating.

Memorials to Tabitha Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Visitation: 1-8 pm Tuesday until service time.
