Anytime we needed help, Jack was the guy to call. When we moved, he was there to haul our bed across town and would not under any circumstance take any money from us, so we hid a $20 bill in his truck. When he realized what we did, he came back the next day and returned it. When Jack learned that Terry was a Democrat, he would give him crap and always wanted to show him his picture of Senator Bob Dole on the wall. We knew right then he would fit in with our family. We will miss him terribly.

I first met Jacky in the fall of 2021, and From the moment we began working together on paving equipment and in the field, Jacky’s incredible dedication and skill were clear. He was a hard-working and exceptionally knowledgeable technician who took immense pride in his work. Jacky made each minute of every hour count, always going the extra mile to ensure our projects were completed to the highest standard. Whether it involved fine-tuning the equipment or shoveling concrete, he was never afraid to get his hands dirty and dive into the mix. Jacky was a true professional — always courteous and committed. But what stood out even more was his infectious positivity. His warm smile and upbeat attitude brightened our toughest days. We quickly developed a strong bond, working seamlessly together and making sure our tasks were not only correct but enjoyable. Jacky had a way of bringing fun into our work, turning even the most challenging days into memorable experiences. After long days of slip paving, Jacky and I shared many memories. We always took a moment to shake hands and congratulate each other on the successes of the day. On days when things didn’t go as planned, we lifted each other up, finding strength and encouragement in our friendship. These moments of mutual respect and support were the foundation of our bond, making each workday worthwhile. On top of our work in the field, we also shared classroom time at Gomaco Corporation. Those learning sessions were filled with great discussions and the joy of sharing ideas. Jacky’s insights always added immense value, and his encouraging presence made everyone around him feel heard and respected. Jacky was, to me, more than just a colleague; he was a dear friend. His legacy of hard work, dedication, and unyielding kindness will continue to inspire me. His spirit was a jewel, lighting up our workplace and making it feel like home. Rest in peace, Jacky. Your memory will live on in my heart and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know you. You will be deeply missed, my friend.

When I went to go pay for my mom’s Celebration of Life, I came to find out, he had already made a nice contribution. Everyone then said, well that is Jack for you! So sorry for your loss!

We picked up Jack for Runza football practice one day and Jack had dryer sheets in his helmet. When we asked why, he said “because Buster is a little a$$ hole and pissed in my helmet”.
