Dan graduated from Milford High School, Southeast Community College and then graduated with distinction from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Dan worked at Olsson Associates for approximately 15 years. He then started his own company, D & M Development Inc. His favorite projects included working with his business partner, Roger Severin, on several golf courses, Big Sandy Lake, and Sandy Pointe Lake. Dan was a loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather and a true and loyal friend to many. Dan’s passions included golf, fishing, and his beloved Huskers. Dan waged a courageous battle with bladder cancer for almost eight years. He endured pain and suffering with true grace.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents Patty and Ardene Muhleisen and his infant granddaughter Inez Muhleisen. He is survived by his wife Angie, his daughter and family, Alicia (Anton), Oliver, Penelope and Mateo Diy, and his son and family, Jason (Kayla), Elijah, and Emilia Muhleisen. Other survivors include his brother David (Cindy) Muhleisen and family, Jake (Britta) Reese, and Sloane, Adam (Michelle), Graham, Miles, and Merritt; Dan’s in-laws, Jay and Shirley Dunlap and his sister-in-laws, Debbie (Steve) Bartels, and family, Amber, Dan (Molly), Clayton, Jaxon, and Zoe. Scott (Heidi), and Kyler; Brother-in-law Mike (Terri) Dunlap, and family Matthew (Maggie), Izzy and James, Jacob, and Hunter Dunlap.
Funeral Mass to be held, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1940 S. 77th St, Lincoln, NE, 68506.
Rosary to be held prior to Mass at 10:00 a.m., at the church. Luncheon to follow the Mass. Father Michael McCabe will be officiating.
