Chrystal was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waverly, Extension Club, Lancaster County Women’s Chorus, and served on the Women’s Bryan Hospital Board and Lancaster County Election Board, past member of Lincoln Gladiolus Society. For many years she was a cosmetologist.
She loved to china paint, play cards, travel, music, was active in her faith and involved in UMW, sang in the church choir. Chrystal did not know a stranger and loved to socialize. She had a great sense of humor and many “one-liners”.
Chrystal loved her Legacy Terrace Family. She enjoyed attending all the activities while residing there and never wanted to be late or miss anything. Bingo was one of her favorites. She was very competitive. Family would like to thank all the staff and caregivers of Legacy Terrace and HoriSun Hospice for all the excellent care they gave her, always with dignity and compassion.
Family members include her daughter, Rebecca (James) McGill, Waverly, son Douglas Johnson, Omaha, daughter Claudia (Douglas) Kinnaman, Omaha; grandsons, Brandon McGill, Grant (Kirsten) McGill, Blake Kinnaman, and Kaelen Kinnaman; 1 great granddaughter, Violet Grace McGill. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, granddaughter Lindsey, brothers Wayne and Murvel Annan.
Visitation with family present will be Friday, September 27, 2024, at Roper and Sons Waverly Chapel, 10851 N. 148th Street from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, First United Methodist Church, 14410 Folkestone Street, Waverly with Pastor David Kim officiating. Burial in the Oakland Cemetery, Shannon City, Iowa on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
