Dorothy Anne Terhune

November 26, 1926 - July 12, 2024

Dorothy Anne Terhune, 97, of Lincoln, NE, passed away July 12, 2024. She was born on November 26, 1926, in Oregon, MO, to Roy and Tempa (Smith) Fuhrman.

Dorothy lived a very active lifestyle with her children in their younger years, helping with scouting and PTA. She also directed Vacation Bible School and was a Sunday School teacher (up until she was 92!).  Dorothy enjoyed serving her Church community in many roles and especially took joy in working with the youth/children’s ministries.  She also served on the local election board for many years. Dorothy was an Avon representative for 50 plus years, achieving recognition in the Honor Society and President’s Club while making lifetime friends along the way.  She was a past member of Faith United Methodist Church and  current member of New Hope United Methodist Church.  Dorothy enjoyed baking, reading, gardening/flowers; making seasonal wreaths was her passion; most of all, Dorothy enjoyed time spent with family.

She is survived by her children, Deborah (Loren) Kampschnieder, Daniel (Kathy) Terhune and Dane (Cheryl) Terhune; grandchildren Lorellee and Eli.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Dean and sister Virginia Lee Pilgrim.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 18, 2024, at New Hope United Methodist Church, 1205 N. 45th Street, Lincoln, NE 68503. Visitation will be held, 3:00 p.m.-7:00p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2024, with family present during this time at Metcalf Funeral Home, 245 N. 27th Street.
