In high school Roger lettered in basketball, football, and baseball all four years. He married his wife, Diana in 1956. In 1959, Roger graduated from Fort Hays State University with a degree in Zoology and received a Medical Technology training/internship at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS and worked as a Medical Technologist at Stormont-Vail and Chief Medical Technologist at St. Francis Hospital until 1966. Then Roger joined Dade Div., American Hospital Supply Corp (Later) Baxter Healthcare Corp.) and worked in a variety of technical, sale, and marketing management position associated with laboratory product manufacturing and distribution while residing in Miami, Dallas, and Lincoln. He received many accolades and was highly respected in his field.
Roger was a member and past president of the Executive club. He enjoyed many friendships he made over the years.
Family members include his daughter Sandy (Chuck) Randolph, Lincoln; grandchildren Rozlynn (Michael) Dibbern, Cairo, NE and Conner Randolph (girlfriend Natalie Dufek), Chicago, IL; great grandchildren Claire and Tatum Dibbern; brother Mark New, Reston, VA; may nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and stepmother Nellie, wife Diana, brother Rodney and son Mike.
Memorial service: 1:00 pm Saturday, July 20, 2024, Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive.
