Lillian Viola (Wilson) Swallow was born on July 21, 1924 in Quick, NE, to George and Mary Genevieve (Barger) Wilson. She passed from this life into the everlasting glories of Heaven on Monday, April 3, 2023 in Alma, NE at 98 years of age.
Lillian was a graduate of the Imperial, NE high school.
In 1943, Lillian married Robert W. Swallow. To this marriage were born two sons, Robert Eugene and Ronald Claire, and a daughter, Carol Ann.
She devoted her life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and sought always to be more like Him. She regularly attended church services, revivals, and camp meetings.
Lillian was a trained practical nurse. For most of her life, Lillian worked as a caregiver, tending primarily to the needs of the elderly.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ann Houck; her youngest son, Ronald Claire; her parents; her brothers Donald, Frank, Edward: her sister Laura; and numerous other extended family members.
She is survived by her sister Lucille Elizabeth Schlegel of Culbertson, NE; her oldest son Bob (Sharon) Swallow of Spring, Texas; and her beloved grandchildren Charmayne (Wade) Barnes of Lubbock, TX, Melanie (Stuart) Morrison of Tomball, TX, David (Maricel) Swallow of Spring, TX; Rachael Cortes of Phoenix AZ, and Bryan Swallow of Phoenix, AZ; Chad Houck of Potterville, MI, and Scott (Amy) Houck of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by her greatgrandchildren, Henry Morrison, Asher Morrison; David Arthur Swallow; Keisha Cortes, Keith Calvin, and Nicolas Calvin; Wyatt Houck, Brody Houck; and Chase Houck, Shayli Houck, and Rheese Houck; as well as numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and more.
The family extends its thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Good Samaritan Society – Colonial Villa in Alma, NE where Lillian lived for the past six years.
Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, 245 N. 27th Street, Lincoln, NE
Viewing will be 1 hour prior to Funeral Service
Lillian will be laid to rest in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, NE.
