Lloyd graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1960 and attended Luther college, as well as UNL. On December 6th, 1964 Lloyd was united in marriage to Patty Walter in Ceresco, NE.
Lloyd was a member of the Valparaiso Cemetery Board, Sesostris Shriners 50+ year member, Master Mason at the Comet Lodge 229 50+ year member and former member of the Valparaiso Volunteer Fire and Rescue department.
Lloyd was one of the great ones, loved by many and respected by all. He was a devoted, kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who would drop what he was doing to come help anyone, at any time. He loved being involved in his community where he helped build many of the houses with his father Jul and brother Marvin, through Hellerich Construction. Hard work did not faze Lloyd, it is the only work he knew.
Lloyd’s love of sports started in Highschool, where he played basketball, football, baseball, and was involved in track. He enjoyed watching all sports especially when his grandson Ryley was on the court/field. Although he was not a dancer, he was always there to watch his granddaughter Jerzi dance and perform in theatre. He was very proud of both his grandchildren.
Lloyd enjoyed golfing with his friends and watching sports or Westerns. However, he spent most of his time at the farm, with his German Shepard Roxie, this was his happy place.
Those he left behind who will miss him dearly include his wife of 58 years Pat; and their three daughters, Kelly (Mark) Cidlik of Dwight, NE, Kami Hellerich of Lincoln, NE, Kim Hellerich (Adam Johnson) of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Ryley (Madison) Cidlik of Omaha, NE, Jerzi Hellerich of Lincoln, NE; brother, Marvin (Jeanette) Hellerich; sister-in-law’s, Peg Lawton, Erma Walter; nieces, nephew and cousins.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law.
Memorials may be given to the family for further designation.
Lloyd’s Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 at American Legion, 430 W. 2nd Street, Valparaiso, Nebraska.
