Calvin Prange, 100, was born at home on the family farm east of Panama, Nebraska on October 26, 1923. He passed away May 19, 2024. He was the only child born to William and Edith (Vanderbeek) Prange. He was a lifetime member of Pella Reformed Church in Adams, Nebraska. He graduated from Panama High School in 1940. He farmed until 1949 when he served in Army until 1951. Upon his return from Germany, he began his 60+ year career in soil conservation.
Cal married Luella Buss August 9, 1959. They were married 44 years. Cal enjoyed family meals, playing cards, fishing in Minnesota, traveling and attending kids/grandkids sporting events.
He is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Keith) Oden; son, Scott (LeAnna) Prange; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great granddaughters.
Preceded in death by his wife, Luella and son, Kurt.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Metcalf Funeral Home Firth Chapel, 309 Nemaha Street, Firth, NE.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Pella Reformed Church, 16101 Pella Road, Adams, NE.
