Upon graduation, she taught school in Lancaster and Gage counties for seven years, including at Sunnyside School in rural Firth, NE.
Eileen married R. Jean Price on May 28, 1947, and moved to the farm she would call home for the next 75 years to farm and raise their family of five children. She was an active member of her community, serving as Treasurer of the Cortland Cemetery for 15 years, as well as several years volunteering for Sewing for Babies. Eileen was a former member of United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School and was a member of United Methodist Women’s Society. She was a current member of Cortland United Church, where she spent many years as a member of the Cortland United Church Women’s organization, as well as Young at Heart.
Eileen is survived by her children, James Price (Judeen), Robert Price (Kay), Ronald Price, Joyce Hurst, and Janet Denison (Scott). She also leaves on Earth 12 grandchildren along with their spouses who she loved as her own grandkids, 18 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Waiting for Eileen’s arrival in Heaven were her husband R. Jean Price, parents JL and Elsie, an infant sister, sisters Dorothy Bailey and Maxine Doolittle, brothers Emmett and Kenneth Bailey, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Roper & Sons South, 3950 Hohensee Drive, Lincoln, NE.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Cortland United Church, 500 S Sheridan Ave, Cortland, NE. Interment will be at the Cortland Cemetery.
