Robert L. Wright, 86, of Lincoln, NE passed away December 18, 2022. Born January 2, 1936, in Junction City, Kansas to George and Margaret (Hartman) Brown.

After growing up in Mitchell, South Dakota, Robert joined the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years. He enjoyed working at the pentagon for 9 years and then retiring in Lincoln, NE. After his retirement from the service, he worked for the Lincoln Post Office until 1988.

Bob and his wife, Barbara, enjoyed motorcycle trips through the Midwest and taking trips to Las Vegas. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and trips to the casino.

Bob is survived by his children, Wesley (Debbie) Wright, Teri (Mark) Hansen and Karyn (Mark) Brooks, five grandchildren, one great granddaughter and one great-great grandson, siblings Linda (Doug) Perry and Mike (Sandy) Goudy and many other relatives.

Bob was preceded in death by wife of 40 years, Barbara, mother Marge Guthrie, stepfather Wes Goudy, brother Don Beck and granddaughter Kari Sky Hansen.

Private family services will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Lincoln, NE.

Thank you very much, Bob, for your service to our country. My deepest sympathy, Teri. I hope you and your family get all the support you needs during this tough time. He was a good man and loved his son and 2 daughters Very much. He was lucky to have 3 wonderful, kind children. You three took very good care of him, Teri, by going to see him as much as you could; Karyn, by helping him out; Wes, by checking on him everyday. You all had a close one with your Dad and that you all will be grateful for… and your Dad did appreciate and loved you all. May he rest in peace. My deepest sympathy to you all.

I didn’t know Uncle Bob that well as a young child, but my memory of him then was that he was always smiling and very kind. Later in my adult life I had felt that he was so very loved and respected by his children and easy to converse with, keeping in touch with my mom even after his wife (moms sister) passed. Mom loved sharing her famous fudge with him that she did faithfully until her own passing away. In visiting with him myself later, I felt he still had that kindness I always remembered from my childhood.
