After graduating from St. Ann’s Catholic High School in Lexington, NE, Peg earned her nursing degree from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1969 and dedicated over 40 years to her professional nursing career. Peg’s proudest moments came with the birth of her daughter Jane in 1971 and son John in 1975. In 1995, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kipp Utemark.
Peg held her faith and family above all else. She cherished her Catholic faith, Irish heritage, dog Ruby, and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She enjoyed her family vacations, traveling with Kipp, attending her grandchildren’s sporting, music, and school events, painting, thrift shopping, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Peg is survived by her loving husband Kipp of 27 years; daughter and son-in-law Jane and Dan Mulder; son and daughter-in-law John and Rachelle Van Cleave; four grandchildren, Lucy and Annie Mulder and James and Myles Van Cleave; mother Thais Finegan; siblings Teresa Finegan, Elizabeth and Kelly Lamson, John “Jack” and Becky Finegan, William “Bill” and Holly Finegan; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. John C. Finegan and her sister Kathleen Ann Finegan.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Roper and Sons South Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr. The Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard will be present to recognize and honor Peg’s lifelong dedication to her nursing profession.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 4500 Duxhall Drive on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
