Elizabeth T. “Betty” Kappel

Elizabeth T. “Betty” Kappel, 86, passed away on September 9th, 2022, in Lincoln, NE. She was born on May 25th, 1936, in New York, NY to Harry and Sarah (Murray) Halligan.

She was a devoted military wife and partner with her husband in various businesses. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and Lutheran Women`s Missionary League. She was a military wife for 22 years and married for 66 years.

Survivors include husband, Jacob “Jack”; daughters Cathy and Debbie; sons John and Darrow; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Church (8701 Adams St, Lincoln, NE 68507).

Betty was one of the first people I met at Faith Lutheran. I remember how fiercely she loved her family — especially her children and their children. I hold you all in my prayers.
